The Rock, Fortress and Deliverer

I was reading along in my Bible when I found this,

2 Samuel 22:2

He said, The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.”

So?

You’re probably thinking, “Yeah, okay, awesome . . . I guess?”

Lemme break this down for you.

“The Lord is my rock”

My foundation, my steady place and keeps me grounded.

“The Lord is my fortress”

My protector keeps me safe and gives comfort.

“The Lord is my deliverer”

My savior and is bringing in the troops

Still not seeing it?

Imagine my hand is stretched out in front of me, palm up.

That’s “The Lord is my rock”

Now I’m taking my other hand to cup over my flat hand.

That’s “The Lord is my fortress”

Add in someone’s two fingers in upside down V.

That’s “The Lord is my deliverer”

(Notice I can’t even do this analogy on my own)

Can you see it now?

God can be all the parts.

If you’re shaky, He can be your rock.

If you’re scared, He can be your for fortress.

If you’re in trouble, He can be your deliverer.

Amazing, huh?

I thought so anyway.
